  • What is Callback?

    In countries where incoming calls are free, callback is a great option to reduce the number of monthly minutes you use from your operators plan. To enable callback, go to More -> Call Settings and turn Use Callback to 'ON'. Now with Callback on, when you dial a number using ChatTime, the call will be setup on the ChatTime server and then in 10-15 seconds you will receive an incoming call. When you answer the incoming call you will then be connected to the person you dialed. If incoming calls are free, minutes that you talk for will not be deducted from your operator minutes.

  • How are calls placed when Callback is turned Off?

    When dialing a number when Callback is Off, ChatTime will place calls directly by calling the ChatTime access number in your country and then connecting your call. Note that this option uses minutes from your local operator and is only available in certain countries (see list below).

  • When would I use Callback?

    If you have free incoming calls, callback is a great solution to avoid using your monthly minutes allotment. Essentially, the call is treated as a free incoming call.

  • When would I not use Callback?

    If you have unlimited monthly minutes from your operator, turning callback off will easily save you money on national and international calls.

  • How am I charged for Callback calls?

    ChatTime deducts charges from your PAYG credits for all callback calls. You are billed for the call to you and the call to your destination. To check the calling rates, please select a contact or enter a number on the Keypad and click 'i'. Note that unlimited plans are not available for callback calls.

  • Is turning Callback Off available in every country?

    Not currently. Callback can be turned off in any of the below countries:

  • Is Callback available in every country?

    Yes. Callback is available in every country.

  • Can I change when I use Callback or not?

    Yes, as long as you are in one of the countries listed above. To do this, from the ChatTime 'more' screen tap 'call settings', you can then select to turn Callback on or off.

  • If I have an unlimited calling plan from ChatTime, can I use Callback?

    ChatTime unlimited plans are not available using callback. If you have a ChatTime unlimited plan and chose to use Callback, you will also need PAYG credits.

  • Does it cost the same to make calls when I am roaming?

    ChatTime charges vary by country when Callback is ON. Also your operator may charge differently if you are roaming outside of your home country, so please check with your operator for the specific country you are traveling to.
