• What is ChatTime?

  ChatTime is the only way to make truly mobile FREE* international calls without Wi-Fi or 3G. The call quality is amazing, it’s as easy as making a local call and you can also make Low-Cost calls to any phone in the world.

  * FREE international calls are available between ChatTime users in 54 countries. Low-cost calls are available from any country and to any phone in the world.

• Does ChatTime work on all phones, the iPad or the iPod Touch?

  Currently ChatTime is only available for the iPhone.

• Is there a sign-up fee or cost to download the app?

  It is free to download ChatTime. You can call other friends that use ChatTime for FREE, as long you and your friend are in any of these 54 countries.

  Or with the US $1 in free credit included with each new account you can call any phone in the world.

• How do I make a FREE call?

  Go to the Contacts tab in ChatTime and select the name of the person you want to call and then press the ‘Free call’ button. ChatTime will automatically check to see if the number you select belongs to a ChatTime user.

  After the first successful Free Call to that contact, then you can call them for FREE by selecting their name from your Contacts list, Favorites list or Recents list.

• How does FREE calling work?

  ChatTime enables FREE international calls by automatically and transparently connecting 2 local calls together, eliminating the need for VoIP, Wi-Fi or 3G data for carrying the call.

  To make a FREE international call, the person making the call and the recipient of the call must both be using ChatTime and be located in any of these 54 countries.

• What is different about FREE international calls from ChatTime?

  ChatTime is the ONLY way to make truly mobile FREE international calls without needing Wi-Fi or 3G. You and your friends that use ChatTime will enjoy FREE unlimited international calling anytime with carrier grade call quality. 

  You no longer have to limit your calling to where Wi-Fi is available. FREE international calls are available between ChatTime users in any of these 54 countries.

• Can I call land and cell or mobile phones?

  Yes, you can call any international number as you would normally; there is no change to how you dial when using the ChatTime application.

  If the person you are calling also has ChatTime and you are both in any of these 54 countries, the call will be free of any international call charges. Alternatively, with ChatTime’s low per minute charges, you can also call any landline or mobile phone in the world.

• Can FREE calls be made to local phone numbers?

  FREE calls can only be made to international numbers between any of these 54 countries when the person you are calling has ChatTime installed.

• Can I use ChatTime in any country?

  Yes, but calling options and call charges may vary from country to country. Please check our website for calling rates to your destination. If you are roaming (in a country other than your home country), we recommend using ChatTime only if you have a local SIM card or in some cases with Callback.

  If you and the person you are calling are in any of these 54 countries, and you are both using ChatTime, then the call will be FREE of all international call charges.

• Do I need a Wi-Fi connection to make calls?

  No, with ChatTime you can make calls anywhere, anytime, without having to look for a Wi-Fi spot. Because calls are not sent over the iPhone’s Internet connection, you will experience consistently great call quality. Your data connection (cellular or Wi-Fi) is used briefly to initiate a call but the call itself is sent over the cellular network.

• Do I have to import all of my contacts?

  No, unlike many low cost calling solutions, ChatTime uses your existing contact list and displays your contacts in the original format, so you don’t have to create a new list or familiarize yourself with a new layout.

• How much does it cost to call?

  All calls are charged on a per minute basis. There are no connection fees, hidden charges or forced subscription fees. Please click here to view rates on ChatTime’s website or view through ChatTime’s iPhone application from More > Rates.

  If the person you are calling is also using ChatTime and you are both in any of these 54 countries, the call will be free of all international call charges.

• How do I add credit to my account?

  Calling credit can easily be purchased directly from the ChatTime Keypad by tapping the 'Buy Credit' button. Purchases will be conveniently billed to your existing iTunes account.

• What are Apple in-app purchases?

  Apple in-app purchase uses your iTunes login and registered credit card (or iTunes credit) to allow you to easily buy ChatTime calling credits. This will be used to top-up the calling credits in your account. Calling credit can easily be purchased directly from the ChatTime Keypad by tapping the 'Buy Credit' button.

• Do I need a credit card to purchase?

  No, calling credits are purchased using Apple’s in-app purchase (your iTunes account).

• Do I need to sign up for a monthly subscription?

  No subscription is required and you can stop using the service at any time.

• How do I buy an unlimited plan?

  Purchase credits equal to or greater than the value of the plan you want to subscribe to and then contact ChatTime support from your iPhone by going to the More tab and pressing Support and then Contact Customer Care. The ChatTime support team will assign the plan of your choice to your account. You will receive an email to let you know when you can start using the unlimited plan.

• Does ChatTime use my plan minutes for calls?

  Yes. ChatTime works by converting your international call into a local call so that you can call anytime without Wi-Fi and with consistently great call quality. Your operator airtime minutes will be used only for placing a local call; ChatTime manages the international part of the call.

  However, many countries offer free calling to local numbers, for example AT&T’s ‘A List’ or Verizon’s ‘Friends and Family’. Simply add ChatTime’s local access number to the list in order to avoid local call charges from your carrier.

  Callback is another option in countries outside of the USA where operators offer free incoming calls.

  When making a FREE call to another user of ChatTime both your local minutes and the local minutes of the person you are calling are used during the call. Remember that there is no charge from ChatTime for the international leg of the call.

• Does it cost the same to make calls when I am roaming?

  If you are roaming (in a country other than your home country), we recommend using ChatTime only if you have a local SIM card. In some cases Callback is a good option, please contact ChatTime support for more details. When roaming, FREE calling will be disabled.
